The Managing Director of Shanda Consult, Mr Stefan Nolte, will visit Mumbai and Delhi as part of the Cyprus business delegation accompanying the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, on his official visit to India.
The President of Cyprus will be accompanied on his official visit to India by the following Ministers:
- Mr Harris Georgiades, Minister of Finance,
- Mr Marios Demetriades, Minister of Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works
- Mr Georgios Lakkotrypis, Minister of Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, and
- Mr Nicos Kouyialis, Minister of Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment.
The President of Cyprus will furthermore be accompanied by a number of officials of various governmental departments and a business delegation of around 60 business people.
Mr Nolte will meet business associates and clients in both Mumbai and Delhi. There are still time slots available for meetings with prospective business associates and/or prospective clients at the following dates:

Background of the visit of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, and the Cyprus business delegation
In August 2016, the Indian Cabinet (Union Cabinet) chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the signing of the amended “Agreement and the Protocol between the India and Cyprus for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income”, shortly Double Taxation Agreement.
The amended Double Taxation Agreement has been signed by both India and Cyprus in December 2016 and has enter into force with the new Indian fiscal year beginning 1st of April 2017.
With the signing of the new Double Taxation Agreement, India has removed Cyprus from its blacklist of countries with insufficient information exchange.
The new Double Taxation Agreement opens the ways for substantial business development and cooperation between the two countries.
