New business licences issued during the first half of 2022 showed an increase of 25%, compared with H1 2021, reflecting the positive impact of the Governments the new strategic approaches and policy amendments to accelerate the pace of Dubai’s sustainable economic growth and diversification.

Business setup in Dubai has never been more cost-effective than during October 2022

General Trading Licence Add-Up Fee – Waived

Background: All kinds of businesses need to be licensed on an annual basis. Licensable business activities are defined quite narrowly, for example such as ‘Cyber Security Consultancy’, ‘Merchandising Services’, ‘Pipes & Fittings Trade’, ‘Wires & Cables Trading’, ‘Fibre Glass Products Trading’, etc. For instance, a company that selling goods for the construction of buildings, falling into the last three licence categories mentioned above, would need to apply for three separate licences.

Typically, three to five business activities are covered by one business licence. If a company wishes to sell products that fall, for example, into seven business activities, additional fees will apply for each additional business activity exceeding the three business activities covered by the licence.

To assist companies which trade many different goods, the Dubai Authorities responsible for company registration and licensing offer a so-called ‘General Trade Licence’, which allows for trading unlimited categories of goods. A General Trade Licence generally costs AED 10,000 annually, in addition to the annual fee of a normal commercial business licence covering three (or sometimes five) business activities.

October Promotion: New companies that apply for a General Trade Licence within October 2022 benefit from the waiving of the additional fee of AED 10,000 (USD 2,740) – for as long as the company continues to exist.

UAE Residence Visa – Free for One Shareholder

Background: Shareholders of Dubai companies, typically wish to become resident of Dubai, to manage their company’s business. Shareholders are entitled to receive a UAE Residence Visa, which is issued for two years. Residence Visa holders are required to renew their residence visa prior to its date of expiration.

October Promotion: One shareholder of a new free zone company registered during October 2022, is entitled to receive his or her UAE Residence Visa free of charge. Please note that the biennial Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department Visa issuance charge and Visa renewal charge are waived. Any status change fees, and costs for medical tests, and Emirates ID Card issue in relation to the Free UAE Residence Visa, are not waived.

This offer is guaranteed for the initial visa issuance and for at least three renewals thereafter.

Benefit From Substantial Discounts on Multi-Year Orders

Background: While UAE Residence Visas are issued for two years, any fees related directly to a company are annual fees. Those include but may not be limited to company name approval fee,  business licence fees, fee for an Establishment Card, and visa allocation fee, which must be paid on an annual basis.

October Promotion: If the shareholder(s) of a new Dubai Free Zone Company opt(s) and pay for business licences with a validity of more than one year, the following attractive discounts apply:

• Business licence with 2 years validity: 15% discount;
• Business licence with 3 years validity: 20% discount;
