Investments in Iran’s Fishing Industry

China is planning to invest $3 billion in Iran’s fisheries in the southern island of Queshm and in the southern port city Bandar Abbas.

Apart from China, South Korea has recently announced its readiness to make similar investment in Iran’s fishing industry and further investors from France, Russia, Norway, Iceland and Thailand voiced their interest in the same sector.

Iran is producing some 325,000 tons of fishery products through farming per year.
