An Iranian private sector company has launched the country’s first cloud data centre at an opening ceremony in Tehran, attended by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi.
The completion of the project took about 3 years and had a cost of USD 13 million. The government has funded nearly USD 5 million in the project in order to help the construction, known that it will be integrated into the country’s national information network.
Once integrated into the nationwide data network, it will help to protect the privacy of the Iranian users, to provide storage and network services and in general to improve the quality of the Internet access.
The aim of the cloud data centre is to promote digital businesses and other Internet-based services, such as electronic trading.
